  • Sep 20, 2019 2:17 PM BGSU Firelands helped Sandusky students learn about forensic science over the summer
    A week-long summer camp for gifted students in grades four through six was held at BGSU Firelands in June. Students from the Sandusky City School Regional Center for Advanced Academic Studies (RCAAS) program attended the summer camp to learn the science behind forensic and criminal investigations. The camp is a component of the Dorn Fellowship that partners Sandusky City Schools and RCAAS with faculty from the BGSU Firelands and Bowling Green campuses. The partnership with RCAAS includes the recruitment of gifted elementary students and is coordinated by Mrs. Tara Toft, Coordinator of Advanced Academic Studies at Sandusky schools.

    Berlyn Wyczalek knew she wanted to stay close to home and her family in Vermillion, Ohio while she completed her college degree. She chose BGSU Firelands because of the many reputable healthcare programs offered. In addition, BGSU Firelands is close to Berlyn's home and family.

    BGSU alumnus Jacob Smith ’07, ’09, ’11 addressed BGSU Firelands graduates May 18, telling them that the special gift of education bestowed upon them came with the responsibility to use that education to make the world a better place. Smith is a congressional staff assistant for U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur.

  • BGSU Firelands is making chemistry major’s dreams possible
    Jayda Jackson, a Sandusky, Ohio, native and chemistry major at BGSU Firelands, is graduating with an Associate of Science degree. Her journey with Bowling Green State University, however, does not end here. Jackson holds a 3.77 GPA as she continues to work for her bachelor degree.
