BGSU Firelands to Host Women in STEM Conference

Huron, Ohio – Bowling Green State University Firelands College will host its annual Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math conference designed for junior high school girls.

One hundred girls in 7th and 8th grade will participate in the conference at BGSU Firelands which introduces young women to the traditionally male-dominated fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Students will engage in a variety of experiments and creative problem solving as they participate in multiple hands-on, STEM workshops. They will also discover exciting career opportunities in a fun and educational atmosphere as they interact with professional women in the respective fields.

Sponsored by the Office for Educational Outreach, the program is scheduled for Nov. 22 from 8:45 a.m. to 1:50 p.m. at BGSU Firelands.
