BGSU Firelands Symposium Focuses on Being Globally Competitive
Huron, Ohio – Bowling Green State University Firelands College’s 39th Annual University Business Symposium on Tuesday, Feb. 28 puts a focus on the international marketplace with “Made in America: Keeping Your Business Globally Competitive.”
Free and open to the public, the Symposium series was created to provide students, faculty, the business community, and others an opportunity to exchange ideas concerning business topics.
Featured speakers for the event are James Wible and Kevin Hoffman.
Wible is president and co-founder of American Colors, Inc, a company which creates products for the coatings and plastics industries. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. and holds a bachelor’s of arts in economics from Allegheny College, Meadville, Pa., and a master’s in business administration from Xavier University, Cincinnati.
Headquartered in Sandusky, American Colors maintains plants in Lebanon, Tenn., and Shanghai, China. The company’s products are utilized throughout the world and can be found in the automotive, construction, and agriculture industries among others.
Hoffman is an internet marketing consultant with WSI eVisions. WSI works with small to medium – sized businesses globally, to design and implement effective internet marketing strategies. Their services include website design, search engine optimization, social media marketing, and online brand reputation. Hoffman serves the greater Midwest from his office in Milan.
The Symposium is co sponsored by BGSU Firelands, Erie County Chamber of Commerce, Huron Chamber of Commerce, and the EHOVE Career Center. Activities will be held in the Cedar Point Conference Center at BGSU Firelands and will begin with refreshments provided by Huron Chamber of Commerce and EHOVE Adult Career Center Professional Culinary Program at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
