  • The Nuclear Labyrinth on the Great Lakes Conference at BGSU Firelands Sep 24, 2012 2:13 PM The great lakes basin hosts every aspect of the nuclear fuel chain, from uranium mining and refining, to nuclear reactors, waste facilities, and nuclear weapons production facilities. There are currently seven major nuclear facilities on Lake Erie that could have a devastating impact on the ecosystem in the event of a major accident.

  • Firelands Professor Featured on PBS Documentary Sep 18, 2012 2:14 PM Bowling Green State University Firelands College Adjunct Assistant Professor Larry L. Nelson will be featured in “War of 1812 in the Old Northwest,” a documentary film produced by WGTE TV, a Toledo-area PBS affiliate. The program will air at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20.

  • Preventing Early Childhood Obesity to be Discussed at BGSU Firelands Sep 10, 2012 2:15 PM According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, childhood obesity has more than tripled in the past 30 years and the percentage of children aged 6–11 years in the United States who were obese increased from 7 percent in 1980 to nearly 20 percent in 2008.
