At BGSU Firelands, the emphasis of Career Services is on one-on-one career counseling. Even as a prospective student, you can work closely with the Office of Career Services to select a major, explore career options, find employment, and negotiate a salary. Many students meet with their career advisor several times per semester to develop their long-term goals. Our emphasis on personal career counseling ensures that your career advisor will understand your values and professional goals.
In addition to one-on-one career counseling, the Office of Career Services offers many services to help you discover and decide between career options:
- Career Assessments, including FOCUS and the Self-Directed Search. These online questionnaires can supplement your career exploration.
- Career Planning Classes, including UNIV 1290 and UNIV 1300. These eight-week, one-credit classes help structure student career explorations and job searches.
- Job Search Assistance, including resume review and mock interviews.
- Job Placement, including Job Fairs, the Job Board, and WorkNet.
