Julius T. Kosan graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and Eastern Michigan University in 1967 with a Master of Arts in Art. He began his teaching career in the Perrysburg public schools from 1964 to 1968. Kosan taught at BGSU Firelands from 1968 to 1993, retiring as Associate Professor Emeritus and continues to instruct part-time at the college. His major areas of expertise are enameling on metal and watercolor painting. In 1989 he received the BGSU Firelands Distinguished Teacher Award. During his tenure at the college, he conducted enameling workshops for the National Art Education Association at conferences across the country. He has entered and won many local, regional and national art exhibitions.
