The First Year

Foundations Courses for Art Majors (and Minors)

In the first year of an art student’s college experience, it is important to enroll in specific foundations courses to prepare the student for subsequent semesters and to meet prerequisite requirements. The following courses are suggested for the first year at BGSU Firelands.

First Year, Fall Semester
ART 1020, Two-Dimensional Foundations (all art majors and minors)
ARTH 1450, Western Art I (all art majors and minors) (first or second year)

First Year, Spring Semester
ART 1030, Drawing Foundations (all art majors and minors)
ART 1120, Three Dimensional Foundations (all art majors and minors)
ARTH 1460, Western Art II (all art majors and minors) (first or second year)

Please note that ART 1010, Introduction to Art, is a class for non-art majors and does not meet any requirements for art majors.
