Activity #1: Perspectives, done in class soon after the perspectives are covered.
The first BGeX activity concerns helping you understand that psychology has five major perspectives. The work involves being able to identify their basic ideas and values. Soon after the perspectives are covered, I will ask you to think about some basic values in psychology.
This assignment will read something like this: Using an information map or essay, present the basic ideas for each of the five perspectives. Be sure to include at least one of the two key words that are used to describe the basic idea for each view as presented in Rathus or the information map on the perspectives. Then identify the main reason that the perspectives are arranged in the order presented in class rather than that of the text. 10 points
If you have a learning disability that involves difficulties doing an in-class writing activity, then you may take a make-up in the Learning Center. Because you will have extra time and warning compared to other students, all that I may tell you about the question is that it will cover something from Chapter 1. The make-up must be completed before the exam on this section of the course.
