Office of Technology Support Services

Goals for the 2007-08 Academic Year

To provide fast and efficient service to our customers (faculty, staff, & students). Work Requests shall be completed within the following time frame:

  • 3 to 5 days for faculty & staff offices
    • Should more time be required, the faculty or staff requesting the work to be done will be notified of the delay and the reasoning behind it.
  • 24 to 48 hours for student labs

To promote customer service within our lab areas and computing environment, recognizing that we are a service provider and our customers are very important.

To continually update/improve the computing environment of BGSU Firelands by updating, maintaining, and researching new, as well as, current technologies.

To develop and offer training courses for faculty, staff, and student development.

In step with our mission statement, these courses will be offered by faculty, staff, and students alike to develop an interdependent teaching/learning environment.

To implement an on-line work request system. The system will allow faculty and staff to input and track the status of their work requests.

To create a positive learning environment within our labs areas. For example, toning down noise levels where possible, encouraging students to use headphones when they need sound on their computer, and updating the student reference materials.

To develop with the Enrollment Management Team a COMPASS plan for reporting and collecting data.

To maintain the existing hardware, software, networks and peripherals, add additional networking components and software where needed.

To establish through the Information Technology Committee a set of common guidelines for computing on this campus. For example: deadlines for new software loading, equipment and internet usage, etc... In addition these policies should stay in line with those set forth by BGSU Information Services.
