DOROTHY PICKETT WALKER SCHOLARSHIP FOR ELEMENTARY EDUCATION:

This $1,000 scholarship, established in 1999, was made possible by donations from Dorothy P. Walker, in memory of Ethel Swanbeck. The scholarship is available to a full or part-time student who has a 3.0 GPA and who plans to major in elementary education. Financial need is also a consideration for this award.

PAULINE L. WALLACE MEMORIAL:

This variable award was initiated by her daughters, with the support of relatives and friends, and in recognition of her professional prominence and dedication in the field of elementary education.

CLARISSA ANN GIVENS MEMORIAL:

This endowed scholarship was established in memory of Clarissa Givens, a Bowling Green State University student. This award is available to full and part-time student and the amount of the award is variable.

ROBERT W. TRAVER MEMORIAL:

Established in memory of the former Sandusky Chief of Police and Chief of Security for Mr. Wiggs Department Stores, Inc., this variable scholarship is awarded to a student who is a resident of the City of Sandusky. Sons and daughters of police officers are accorded preference.

NORMAN H. JESSEN MEMORIAL:

One $1,000 scholarship awarded annually based upon academic achievement and community and campus involvement.

WILLIAM RANDOLPH HEARST SCHOLARSHIP FUND:

This scholarship is funded through an endowment given to BGSU Firelands by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation. Academically talented students with financial need are given special consideration. Five awards of variable value are made annually.

MARGIE A. WOELL MEMORIAL:

This endowed award is available to full and part-time students. Preference will be given to students majoring in education, in one of the social sciences, or in one of the helping professions; e.g., social work, criminal justice, human services, family services, gerontology, or nursing. The value of this scholarship varies annually.

WILLIAM J. PARKER FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP:

The amount of this award is equal to the annual cost of full-time instructional and general fees. The basis for the award is financial need.

WILLIAM J. PARKER MEMORIAL:

This endowed award is available to students who are enrolled on either a full or part-time basis. The value of the award is variable.

SANDUSKY EXCHANGE CLUB:

The Dr. Henry W. Lehrer Scholarship of $1,200 and the Sandusky Exchange Club Scholarship of $1,000 are funded for entering and continuing students. Applications must be made directly to the Exchange Club on special forms available at the BGSU Firelands Office of Enrollment Services. These are merit based scholarships.

FRANK A. & ANNA I. McBRIDE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP:

This endowed award was given by Dr. James H. & Mrs. Margaret B. McBride in memory of Dr. McBride's parents, Frank A. & Anna I. McBride. Students from any discipline may receive this award, but a deserving student with musical interests will be given special consideration. Both full-time and part-time freshman and continuing students are eligible.
