PURPOSE
- To increase awareness on the part of the campus and community and the community at large of the vital role played by allied medical professionals in the delivery of modern health care, as well as the educational opportunities afforded by the allied health programs at BGSU Firelands.
- To foster a sense of comradeship and professionalism among those BGSU Firelands students preparing for careers in allied health professions.
- To create opportunities for personal and professional growth in an out-of-classroom/clinical setting through participation in various club activities.
- To provide an outlet for social interaction among Club members.
MEETINGS
General meetings for club members is normally once a month during the school year. Officers usually meet before every scheduled club meeting to develop the agenda and work on ideas. In addition to meetings the AHC regularly sponsors a campus Red Cross Bloodmobile Drive, philanthropic events such as collections of food for the needy and used book sales, and other social events.
OFFICERS & DUTIES
- President:
- Conducts the meetings and is charged with leadership of the organization.
- Vice President/Treasurer:
- Develops the club budget, maintains the accounts and assists the President as necessary
- Secretary:
- Maintains accurate minutes of club meetings and completes word processing projects for the club, which includes copies and distribution to club members.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open not only to students currently registered as majors in an allied health program, but to other students, as well, who have expressed an interest in the Cub or its activities. Students may be recommended for membership at any time by any Club member or they may join at the beginning of each semester during the formal sign-up period for all campus organizations.
