Career Services offers students assistance in exploring career options, determining professional goals, and searching for
employment.
For students unsure which career or academic major to choose, Career Services offers individual career counseling, and career
interest inventories which can help students discover and decide between career options. Career Services can also provide
information on a wide variety of careers, including job descriptions, salary information, and future prospects for different
occupations. Additionally, UNIV 129, Career Planning, is offered as an eight-week, one-credit course designed to give students
a systematic in-depth opportunity to explore career options.
Students seeking employment will benefit from resume review services and interview preparation assistance, including the opportunity
to practice interviewing skills through a “mock” interview. UNIV 130, Job Search, is an eight-week, one-credit course designed
to help students develop the tools and skills necessary to conduct a successful job search.
Career Services advertises available jobs on job postings bulletin boards and on the BGSU Career Services web site, and can
refer resumes to employers. Additionally, Career Services co-sponsors area job fairs in both the fall and spring semesters.
