Class Schedules
Before you register for classes, you'll want to determine what classes are available for the upcoming semester.  Current and proposed course schedules at BGSU Firelands are available here under "Course Schedules."  This website always has the most accurate information regarding cancelled classes, newly scheduled classes, and changes to classes (new class meeting time, different instructor, etc.) for the current and upcoming semesters.  You can also search for classes by day, time, instructor, credit hour, etc., both at BGSU Firelands and on the main campus, by clicking here.  This powerful search engine will allow you to find your classes if they must meet certain criteria.

Official BGSU Academic Calendar
The official BGSU academic calendar for Fall 2007 is available here and the academic calendar for Spring 2008 is available here..  It is very important that you pay attention to various dates and deadlines:
  • When classes begin and end for the semester.
  • Days when classes are not in session (breaks, holidays, and recesses).
  • When final exams will be held.
  • The last day to add classes without permission.  Students can add classes to their schedule within seven days of the beginning of Fall or Spring semester classes.  There are similar deadlines for the various Summer sessions.
  • The last day to drop classes or change a grade option without permission.  Students can drop classes from their schedule or change their grade option (letter grade to pass-fail, or pass-fail to a letter grade) within fourteen days of the beginning of Fall or Spring semester classes.  There are similar deadlines for the various Summer sessions.
  • The last day to drop classes with instructor and college permission.  From the beginning of the third week of classes through the end of the ninth week of classes for each Fall or Spring semester, students can drop classes (some, but not all; click here for information about total withdrawal) with instructor and college permission.  There are similar restrictions for the various Summer sessions.  Students who drop classes during this period will receive a W (sometimes called a WP) or a WF, depending on the student's academic standing in the class at the time of withdrawal.  W's do not affect grade point averages, but WF's are calculated as F's.
  • The refund percentage schedule.  These dates determine the percentage of fee refund you may receive for voluntarily dropping classes.  Note that the percentages drop quickly.  There are no refunds after four weeks of classes for the Fall and Spring semesters.  There are similar deadlines for the various Summer sessions.
  • The graduation application deadline.  Every student who plans to graduate the end of a particular semester must apply for graduation.  Applications are usually due early in the semester you plan to graduate.  Applications are submitted online via MyBGSU.
