| Advising Tools |
| Academic advising helps
students explore academic programs and select appropriate courses toward
career and life goals. It assists students who are undecided about a
major field of study by sampling a variety of courses before making a
choice. Advising is available at no cost to all students and is strongly
recommended. Any student who is not familiar with course content,
course prerequisites, or course sequencing is strongly encouraged to
consult with an adviser. However, since students bear all
responsibility for meeting their graduation requirements, consulting an
adviser is always recommended. |
Academic Adviser
- Academic advisers are assigned according to
the degree program or major you have chosen.
- If you are a first-semester freshman, a
first-semester transfer student, or a full-time guest student, you
are required to see your adviser.
- You can make an appointment with your
academic adviser though the Student Services office (101 West
Building).
|
Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS)
- Your DARS report is available for your
viewing on MyBGSU.
- Your DARS report will show the required
courses you need for your particular degree program or major.
- Use your DARS report to help you plan which
courses to take each semester.
- If you notice any discrepancies in your
DARS report, be sure to contact the Student Services office (101
West Building) as soon as possible.
