"As far back as I can remember I wanted to be an artist. When my classmates struggled with the 'what will I be when I grow up?' question, I could step back because I already knew.

I became interested in Graphic Design when it became apparent that I would need to make a living right after graduation. I liked the idea of giving shape to raw material, giving it distinction, order and a hierarchy -- putting information into a form that makes sense to the viewer. I have always liked the challenge of creating something outside the box when the realities of budget constraints and deadlines threaten to keep me inside.

When I started out, I subscribed to Mies Vander Roe's proposition that 'less is more'. After more than 20 years in the business, I have come to believe that Milton Glaser was closer to the mark when he said that "just enough is more'."
