Partnerships

BGSU Firelands' partnerships enrich the College's educational opportunities and provide momentum for economic development and community involvement. The American Society for Training and Development ASTD is the world's premier professional association and leading resource on workplace learning and performance issues. ASTD provides information, research, analysis and practical information derived from its own research, the knowledge and experience of its members, its conferences, expositions, seminars, publications and the coalitions and partnerships it has built through research and policy work.ASTD's membership includes more than 70,000 people, working in the field of workplace performance in 100 countries worldwide. Its leadership (see ASTD's Board of Directors) and members work in more than 15,000 multinational corporations, small and medium sized businesses, government agencies, colleges and universities.
The EnterpriseOhio Network is a statewide alliance established to advance Ohio's economic growth by expanding the capability and utilization of Ohio's public two-year colleges and university regional campuses as economic development partners and resources to meet Ohio's workforce development needs.
Learning Resources Network (LERN) is an international association of lifelong learning programming, offering information and resources to providers of lifelong learning programs.
OCHEA provides the BGSU Firelands community with opportunities and resources from its statewide network of continuing education professionals. OCHEA provides assistance in solving problems, identifying instructional materials and resources, and developing and implementing new programs and ideas. In addition, the OCHEA Special Interest Groups (SIG)s meet provide opportunities for members to exchange information and share common concerns.

The University Partnership at Lorain County Community College was created to bring bachelor and graduate degrees to the residents of Lorain County. Under this partnership many of the finest universities in Ohio offer programs to students right on the Lorain County Community College campus. The four-year institutions offer all courses required for the completion of the bachelor degree programs or the fulfillment of requirements for graduate or certificate programs. Lorain County Community College's University Partnership coordinates the delivery of the degree programs. Partner institutions provide the faculty and curriculum.

The University Medical Center at the University of Toledo, a diverse institution that offers enhanced programs and research opportunities attracting high-caliber faculty members and more professional programs and degree options to students. The Medical University of Ohio campus has been named the UT Health Science Campus and is home to the University Medical Center and many of UT's health-science research and education programs.
