Welcome to the writer's assistance page for English 111.

During the second through fifth weeks of the semester, you will work on a series of exercises that represent areas that are often problems for writers. You will find those exercises linked to the corresponding week posted on the left side of the screen. For your part, you must work through each of the exercises as specified in the syllabus. Upon completing each exercise, you will click on "Score" and then PRINT a record of your results. A copy of these results will automatically be sent to my e-mail.

These exercises are taken from the website that corresponds with your class handbook, A Writer's Reference by Diana Hacker. I have identified reading assignments from the Hacker text in your syllabus. Read through those pages PRIOR to actually going to the links to complete the exercises. In addition to earning a grade for your initial work on these exercises, we will use your results to guide our review of this material.
